Making money is easy, it’s the storing of wealth that is difficult
As mentioned in my previous reports, I finally covered my short position on BTC at the 27000 level, giving me a nice 3000 profit. There might be more on the downside, but it is so tricky to fathom what will happen with cryptocurrencies over the coming months that I decided to get out and await further developments.

Being raised by people who lived and fought during WWII, it can be no surprise I look at things differently to younger generations, who don’t mind dumping their morality to earn a couple of bucks.

Artificial intelligence is the day’s headline news, with people flooding to use ChatGPT and similar programs. Artificial intelligence (AI) is much more than that though – it is not a toy.

Many of today’s charts have more lines than a mirror in Hunter Biden’s bedroom. When I started, we plotted our charts by hand using pencil and paper, updating them every

Everything has been relatively stable for the past few weeks, but the time for that to change is not far off. Over the coming weeks, the way the charts are developing, I will look for the opportunity to get short of the Euro, equities and BTC.

Having two short weeks on either side of Easter is rarely an ideal time for commenting on what the markets might do over the short term, but as that is the name of the game, let’s go with it.

What’s not to like about a few days off and a possible market rally? After a year filled with depressing news, it’s refreshing to have a bit of relief from the constant negativity. While we should still be…

Few have been as concerned about the economic outlook for as long as I have. And too many of the problems we have discussed over the past year are now, sadly, starting to take hold.
Read MoreProfitable pessimism or worthless optimism?
In a recent discussion with a reader of my reports, he pointed out that although generally accurate, the pessimism was slightly(?) off-putting.
That was an entirely fair comment, and I took it on board and will address it in future reports.
It’s for times like these that Bitcoin was created!
Although BTC lost its way occasionally, it exists to protect our wealth from bad economic times and to protect us from governments with bad economic policies. I have spent the last 18 months discussing the need to create a diversified portfolio encompassing financial instruments and secure investments outside of capital markets.

Whilst the bond market continues to price in further economic weakness, the equity players are promoting the importance of holding value stocks. Crypto Banks are in trouble, and BTC is again coming under pressure.

I’ve just spent a week on my back in traction and yet I haven’t grown an inch! Getting old is no fun, but keeping up with the latest market developments sure keeps you busy.
In the past 18 months, the crypto and hi-tech community has moved their focus from NFTs, to the Metaverse, and now into AI.

BTC has been floating around the 22,000 level longer than a balloon over Montana
I don’t know whether BTC will continue to float, or the Biden administration will bring it down soon. But then again, I am not writing this report on Hunter’s laptop.

Where do we go from here? Is the future fraught with danger?
I dumped half my BTC position last week, which looking back on it, might have been a bit premature.
But it will not be the first time I banked a little too early.

The year starts well, but only some people seem happy
This week, we were able to bank some profits and reduce our exposure, thanks to the 50% rally in BTC. Of course, I didn’t buy at the low or sell at the high but taking a nice chunk out of this move was very satisfying.
